UT Basketball

So the UT basketball team is 14-14 with 2 games left to play, did Dave Hart pick the right guy? Lat year we made the sweet sixteen which was amazing and now this year we may not finish over .500. Our coach now has all kinds of questions around him about improper things at his last job, 2 of the coaches from this years teams quit before the season began. I guess we expected too much from our basketball team after Bruce Pearl. But, right now the only word that comes to mind for the basketball team is Sux. I guess it's good for our athletic department that the fans can look forward to the "only" Lady Vols playing basketball and spring practice for football. I see all of these crazy basketball fans across the country at all of these other schools and would love to see this at UT. Maybe the problem is the AD? He is an Alabama man and we at UT hate Alabama, we always have and always should.

UT Jobs

so ut is always trying to cut jobs around here but i dont understand why they cut the low paying jobs of the people that do the work. look at the undergraduate admissions page, they have 5 assistant directors, 1 associate director, and 2 sr. associate directors. that doesnt count the actual directors, of which they have 2 and then they report to the dean, who reports to a vice chancellor or assistant vice chancellor or an assistant to the vice chancellor. OMG cut the fat at the top Tennessee.

good morning east tennessee. i really have nothing to say besides the normal, like why dont people use their turn signals and why can't students look up before they cross in front of the CAR. how come students have the right of way and feel like they don't even have to look up from their texting to cross the street? the same students drive their car out of the parking lot and look at me like i'm crazy when they zoom by me while i'm in the crosswalk.

let's move on to something i really know about, - food. i have eaten at the new cheddars restaurant here in k-town and it is fantastic. i had a wonderful mushroom swiss burger and some great onion rings. i wasn't expecting too much from the onion rings because they were beer battered but they were amazing. if you like chicken tenders this is the place for you, 2 of my friends got the chicken tenders and they looked amazing and they give you a PILE.

i have also found a good new Chinese place. now i know that chinese restaurants are on every corner and i love chinese food so it takes a lot to surprise me but the Chef Ben restaurant near the fountain city duck pond is wonderful. i have had the tso chicken, the chicken broccoli and steamed pork dumplings. the tso was some of the best i've ever had and the chick broc was good, the dumplings were full of pork only, no veggie filler for these dumplings. excellent restaurant.

i have been loving the salad and soup at jason's deli on the strip. the last time i had the seafood gumbo with my salad and the gumbo was very fishy which is the way i like a seafood gumbo! the only complaint about the salad bar is the lack of chick peas/garbanzo beans. i mean good Lord, they have hummus on the bar so why not save some of the garbanzos and put them out. i saw an amazing corned beef sammich that i have to try sometime. also the muffaletta looks good if that is the way to spell it.

since i know food let me tell you about the cheap pizza. i have found that little caesars is the best value and taste you can find. 5 bucks for a one topping pizza that is usually fresh is an unheard of price. they also have an 8 dollar meat or supreme pizza, that's stretching pizza price deal a little. it is so convenient to stop by and pick up about 4 pepp pizzas on the way home to my sisters house. that's right i live with my sister but that is another story for another time. the fat man is talking about food right now and there are not many restaurants that i have not tried. i saw a commercial for a new fish sammich at wendys and was thinking the thing to make it stand out from other fish sammiches is to add red lobster tartar sauce, that is the best tartar sauce known to man. i know good tartar sauce when i eat it. captains d's sauce is good, long johns is too lemony but red lobster is perfect. i better go do some work now.

boy, i have really been on the ball about posting anything on this blog. well, i do post just to get it off my chest. so...... i want UT to know that there are staff here at UT, not just students and faculty. everything that is sent out always mentions the students and faculty. what about the lowly staff??

for the students, when the hand is solid red/orange, that means Don't Walk. especially while my light is green. good lord, didn't the parents or maybe a teacher tell these kids to look both ways before crossing??

Blog

Well since i have found my blog again, i might as well use it even if no one ever sees this. Since the last postings of my blog, i have changed jobs at UT. i no longer work for THAT woman or THAT other woman. if i see them in a hallway, we are always very polite to each other but they have moved on and seem happy and i am ecstatic with my job. i still work in the same building that i was in but i've moved to the 4th floor or the "penthouse" as i tell everyone. i really miss seeing the people that i used to help with their computer problems but with phones, email, facebook and being in the same building, i get to see them occasionally. I work in UT Housing now and i love it, i work with about 20 or so computers in this office and i have to go out to all of the dorms to work on hall directors, clerks, and housekeeping computers. i even get to drive a 2007 Ford Escape to get to where i need to work.

now that i have rediscovered the blog, i am sure that i will use it to post all of my aggravations during the day, i can't really use facebook to complain about anything that i work with or work on.

Trevor is 18

i forgot all about my blog, but i came across an old email that i was getting ready to delete from gmail and it mentioned my Benny World blog so here i am.

Matthew "Trevor" Hill is 18 years old today. I can still remember the day he was born. the doc had to use a suction cup thingy to get him out. he had a cone head for a couple of days, but he was perfect and in my eyes he will always be perfect.
